Ohio woman charged for throwing away miscarried fetus
I'm confused... Jewell Leon has been charged with tampering with evidence (a third degree felony) for throwing away her miscarried fetus.
How is a miscarried fetus "evidence?" Is it illegal to have a miscarriage in Ohio, or something?

Perhaps the miscarriage is evidence of her heroin abuse? It could be that they are trying to put her in jail for being an addict.
Is being an addict a crime? I know possession and sale are crimes, but I don't think being an addict is a crime all by itself.
If it is true that they are trying to put her away for heroin abuse then I am outraged that they would use her miscarriage as "evidence". This new tendency to prosecute women doubly for both a stupid drug charge and for the "murder" of her baybee is beyond horrible. Way to miss the point and punish someone in need of help while she could very well be grieving and beating herself up over this already.
I know this lady and she was 8 months along, none of the papers are saying the right story. She needs to answer to what she has done. She was on drugs at the time and we dont know if the baby was alive or not.
