Babies destroy peace.

Photobucket
Sorry I haven't been blogging recently. December is such a busy month. I've barely got time for the news or the internet, with all the shopping and giving, cleaning and decorating, cooking and baking, family and fun. I love it.

But today I did take some time to browse my Google reader articles, and look what I found: pro-lifer Jill Stanek declaring that choice destroys peace!

O RLY? Well, I'm looking around my house and things sure seem peaceful, to me. The pets are asleep, the kid is at school, the TV is off, the house is clean... I can't help but realize that things would be a whole lot less peaceful around here if I hadn't had the choice to use birth control, because babies are far from peaceful! They scream and make messes and leave a swath of destruction in their path. I know. I've had one.

So how can any sane person seriously argue that choice destroys peace? Have they never cared for a baby before? What the hell?
In a press statement with release of the video, ALL's vp Jim Sedlak said, "By changing the word 'peace' to 'choice', Planned Parenthood is effectively implying that Mary should have considered aborting Jesus.... King Herod sent soldiers out to slaughter babies because he wanted to kill Jesus. Two thousand years later, Planned Parenthood is still doing all it can to kill babies. That is what their motto 'Choice on Earth' really means."

This shit is pure insanity. So if you listened to Jim Sedlak and his extremist anti-choice comrades at American Life League, all of us normal people who want to limit the number of children we have -- we're no better than wicked King Herod ordering the slaughter of every male baby in Jerusalem! Either you want three dozen babies, or you're a hellbound pro-abort death-monger! The Culture of Life requires absolute submission to a lifestyle of unbridled reproduction. Because nothing says peace like the howls of a teething infant! Who knew that having no choice over your own body and your life was the key to ultimate peace and harmony? Enslaved people don't know how good they've got it!

This is batshit insane! My god, just look at this unhinged batshittery:

They are outraged! Outraged, I say! Outraged that anyone could think that freedom enables peace!

"'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.' By changing the word 'peace' to 'choice,' one must wonder to which God Planned Parenthood is giving its glory."

Most likely some pagan Creator that endows people with an inalienable right to liberty!

"If that wasn't bad enough, a 1973 comic book distributed by Planned Parenthood depicts a sacrilegious mockery of the blessed virgin with the phrase, 'What, me worry?'"

1973! EVERYBODY PANIC!

"Can it be any clearer? The desire to remove Jesus Christ from the face of the earth hasn't been this strong since King Herod sent soldiers out to slaughter the holy innocents!"

Got that? Using birth control = wiping Jesus from the face of the earth and destroying all of humanity. And you thought you were just making life easier and happier for yourself and your family. Well, now you know better!

No wonder we stopped teaching kids about birth control in public schools. Teen pregnancy keeps the devil away, don'tcha know? There's nothing Jesus loves more than the sight of impoverished teenage girls stripped of all choices in life, struggling to raise multiple children, apparently.

And these nutcakes truly believe they have the moral high ground in the abortion debate! Insanity!

Thank you, APD Chief Art Acevedo!

You've made the right choice by firing Micheal Olsen. It's a shame that's all that will happen to him. He shot an unarmed, fleeing man in the back, twice, the second time as he lay face-down on the ground, and killed him. It was totally unnecessary and shouldn't have happened.

Olsen has said that he was investigating a report that Brown had a gun and that Brown began to flee. He said he fired when Brown reached toward his waist, as if drawing a weapon.

According to a statement to homicide investigators made public in August, Olsen said he was "100 percent sure" Brown had a gun when he shot the man.

Olsen said that he fired several rounds and that Brown fell facedown and continued reaching around his waist.

"I still felt threatened by his actions and thought he was still trying to get the gun out," Olsen said. "I paused and hesitated, especially because he was facedown and on the ground, before making the decision to shoot several more rounds to ensure I ended the threat."
This reeks of bullshit. I don't believe a word of it, because Kevin Brown did not have a gun, so why in the world would he have been reaching for his waist as he lay on the ground with a bullet in his back? There was nothing there to reach for.

As the report says:
Despite requesting backup and knowing that another officer was only seconds away, Olsen decided to go "hands-on" and confront Brown, which Acevedo said he should not have done without a sufficient number of officers.

Olsen did not communicate with other officers to develop a "measured and coordinated" response, for which he was responsible as the supervisor at the scene. Olsen left his partner during the chase and created a potential cross-fire encounter in which the officers could have accidentally shot each other.

Olsen could have dropped to the ground, hidden behind a tree or positioned himself at the corner of a building if he thought Brown was going to shoot him.
All excellent reasons to fire him. Good riddance.
